Let’s work together
-
Narrative Design
I work with teams on existing stories or collaborating from the outset to create a new story. In this phase, I review the project scope, consolidate existing material and undertake further research if required. I create storyboards, mood boards, character profiles, environment briefs, background lore, user experience journeys and incorporate writing structures.
Artefacts: World building documentation, character profiles, narrative structures, storyboards, mood boards, playlists
Software: Figma, Excel, Twine
-
Creative Writing
I design overall story frameworks using storyboards and branching diagrams to map story beats, emotional arcs, plot lines and user interactions. These frameworks are then detailed with writing for narration, character dialogue, NPCs and barks (supplied as ready to use file formats). I also enjoy creating in-world material and text to support world building such as onboarding, tutorials, UI, and 2D/3D objects.
Artefacts: Scripts, dialogue, barks, onboarding, tutorials
Software: Ink, Twine, Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Excel

User Experience
I incorporate user experience across the narrative design process. From research, identifying user personas and journeys to rapid prototyping, user testing and iteration. An optimal user experience can support and enhance a great story and characters.
Artefacts: Mockups, wireframes, user journeys, user flow, rapid prototyping (paper, cardboard, spatial, role play)
Software: Figma, Axure, Adobe XD
